Thank you. Thank you for trusting me to capture your family's moments and turn them into something that you will treasure forever. Thank you for allowing me to come into your bubble, a sacred place where you smile, laugh, and love. Thank you for letting me do something that I love, while capturing all the things you love about your family. I truly have the best job in the world, and it's all thanks to you.
I’m on a mission to do away with traditional stiff, posed shots. With Schackmann Photography, you’ll get more than just a photo session, you’ll get an experience. Be prepared to laugh, snuggle, tickle, and play the whole time we are together. In twenty years, that “perfect” posed photo won’t bring you the same emotions that a genuine moment captured of your family will. So bring on the goofy faces, the laughing until you cry, and the sweet little hugs- all the things that make your family yours. And let me help you remember your family just as you do, perfectly imperfect.
Hi, I'm Sharon, the face behind the camera of Schackmann Photography. My husband Eric and I have been married for six years and live in a little farmhouse just south of Newton, Illinois. We have two fur babies- Bailey, our loving, just wants to snuggle Beagle, and Cassie, our never-stopping, play fetch 24/7 Australian Shepherd/Collie mix. We love living in such a small, tight-knit community that is allowing me to follow one of my dreams- photography.
I have always loved to take pictures. Every family vacation, sporting event, night out in college- you name it and I more than likely had a camera in my hand. Granted, it was just a simple point-and-shoot camera, but it was still a camera. You see, from a young age I realized how important pictures were. It's great to have stories about things that have happened in our lives, but it's even better to have a picture illustrating just how beautiful you looked while pregnant, just how big your child smiled when you got them belly-laughing, just how perfect your husband looked at your baby, just how wonderful life really is. That's why I love taking pictures. Because you won't always be newlyweds/pregnant/a newborn/a family of three/etc. forever. So let's get to capturing your memories!
